• Infertility
• Back and Neck Pain; Pain of any origin
• Post stroke symptoms; Paralysis/Numbness
• Impotence
• Hypertension
• Menopause Symptoms
• Poor Digestion or Irritable Bowel Syndrome
• Asthma
• Anxiety
• Swelling

The following are some examples of the conditions we treat. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list as we treat many other conditions but is meant to provide some introductory understanding to the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Pain

Traditional Chinese Medicine is very

effective in treating for neck, lower

back, elbows, shoulders, sciatica,

headaches and migraines or any pain

caused by injury or stress. Acupuncture

and Chinese herbs are very successful

in treating the chronic underlying causes

of the pain. I use needles and electric

stimulation to ease the immediate pain

in conjunction with cupping or

vasconeumatic device to assist with

circulation. Cupping relieves the inflammation and bruising in order to reduce the swelling. This usually has a long term effect and treats the underlying condition causing the pain.

Depression and Anxiety

According to TCM, depression and anxiety are the major emotion and psychological conditions caused when the heart and liver meridians are not balance which will cause one to be “hyper” (fast) or “hypo” (slow). For example, when this occurs one may sleep too much or become an insomniac. Using acupuncture and herbal remedies to balance these meridians will also have the added effect of releasing tension from the body. Depression, anxiety, and insomnia will improve when such channels become balanced.

Allergy, Sinus, Shingles, and Rheumatism

These conditions are all related to the immune system. The lung, kidney and spleen meridians need to be adjusted to address underlying causes of these conditions which will help alleviate the symptoms of irritation to skin and breathing. Traditional Chinese medicinal approaches are very effective in adjusting these meridians so they would become balanced.

Infertility

According to Traditional Chinese

Medicine the kidney channel controls

the sex function. Acupuncture along

with herbal formulas will improve the

kidney’s “Qi” as well as blood

circulation. When someone struggles

to become pregnant naturally,

acupuncture can also help prepare for

in vitro insemination. The amount of

time one requires for treatment

varies greatly, some have required 3-4 months while others, extreme cases, have needed constant treatment for up to 2 years. On average, a patient is treated with acupuncture for six months to a year before becoming pregnant.

Stroke and Bell’s Pallsy

It is very important to get medical attention as soon as possible. However, acupuncture is very effective in treating with the after effects of such issues. Generally speaking those who receive treatment soon after such an episode receive the most benefit. But, acupuncture has also been very effective for those who have dealt with chronic issues after 15 or even 30 years.

Digestion

Stomach aches, acid reflux, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation requires treatment of the spleen and stomach meridians. According to TCM these channels could become too warm or too mild. Herbal preparations along with acupuncture are very successful in dealing with such chronic conditions.

Dermatological Conditions

In TCM, the approach to treating skin conditions is to look at the skin as a reflection of the general health of the entire body system. For example Eczema is explained as a reaction of the inner “dampness” of the body, which is also caused by an imbalance of the inner meridians, in reaction to a changing weather. Therefore, the goal of the herbal treatment and acupuncture is to acclimate the body to the changing weather which will remove the symptoms. Other examples such as hives and rashes are believed to be caused by the body’s own immune system in their reaction. Herbal treatments are particularly effective due to their ability to alleviate the irritation without causing drowsiness.
